It’s ironic but cool that in 2016, as I see through my 40th year on this planet, that NASS celebrates it’s 40th year too!
As a leaflet from NASS explains, ‘In 1976, a small group of patients, rheumatologists and physiotherapists first formed NASS, aiming to provide vital support for anyone affected by AS in the UK. Forty years on we are still the only charity in the UK dedicated to the AS community. And it has only been possible because of you.’
To me it’s funny that I’ve only known about a charity that’s been around as long as me, supporting the life-long condition I have for about the last 6 years, despite being in pain for the last 16 years.
It’s a bit like finding a long lost twin!
